Traveling to Nosara

You arrive in Costa Rica at one of its two international airports:

  • Juan Santamaria Airport (SJO), which is right outside the capital city of San Jose
  • Daniel Oduber Airport (LIR) in Liberia.

To travel to Nosara from each of these airports, fly, get a car service or rent a car and drive yourself.

Fly via the local airlines such as Nature Air or Sansa. Pull out your cameras for this quick flight because you will want to click off amazing aerial photos as you glide over the lush mountains, sparkling pacific blue bays and coastal ocean waves. You land at Nosara Airport and you are ready to go!

Car services such as those arranged through local transport companies are reliable and convenient. Leave the confusion of conquering the Costa Rican route to Nosara to your friendly driver who will point out landmark sights and enjoy your introduction to Costa Rica.

Rent a car through National, Alamo, or another international car rental agency available at the airports. Driving time is about 4.5 to 5 hours from San Jose or 2.5 hours from Liberia. Drive during the day, leave time to enjoy the sights and get in touch into your inner adventurer as you travel the Costa Rican roads.
